The Center for the Study of Sport in Society offers many programs to the youth of Boston and is expanding to serve youth in other cities around the country. Husky Sport is modeled after the Center for the Study of Sport in Society program Urban Youth Sports (UYS) with a component of the Center's Athletes in Service to America program included by using student-athletes as mentors.   Husky Sport's continuing success is due to its close relationship with the Center. Not only has Husky Sport modeled its program after the Center for the Study of Sport in Society, but believes greatly in the Center's mission to "increase awareness of sport and its relation to society, and to develop programs that identify problems, offer solutions and promote the benefits of sport ."
