Husky Sport - Sites

Introduction

The Department of Kinesiology and the Sport Management program offer a course entitled “Service Learning through Sport and Physical Activity” (EKIN 275/375) that is offered to both undergraduate and graduate students every semester (fall, spring, summer).  See syllabus. 

The course requires students to serve 35 hours in three sites in Hartford engaged in sport and physical activity with children.  Another requirement of the course is a group project where students plan and execute a field trip.  Past field trips have included bringing the Hartford kids to UCONN to watch athletic events, participate in sport clinics, tour the campus (e.g., library, cultural centers, student union, athletic facilities) as well as trips to other sites for bowling, roller skating, mini-golf.
