The Greater Hartford Jaycees Community Boathouse, through the leadership of Brian Wendry, has become a fixture is Husky Sport's summer programming. Riverfront Recapture's Community Rowing Program provides safe, free opportunities for Hartford youth recruited by Husky Sport to be introduced to rowing over the course of a three day session. The hope is that some of the children will return as high school students to participate in one of the free high school programs:

Riverfront's Club Team (fall program) is comprised of boys and girls, primarily from four public high schools - Sports & Medical Science Academy, Hartford Public, Bulkeley, Weaver along with East Hartford High School and other schools in the region. The Riverfront Club team rows five days a week during the Competitive Fall Program that prepares students to race against other high school crews.

Riverfront's Summer Youth Program  teaches both beginning and experienced rowers in a non-competitive setting. This program, which meets three times a week, focuses on the basics of rowing in preparation for rowing in sweep team boats.
