Stan F. Shaw

Dr. Stan Shaw is Senior Research Scholar and Associate Director at the University of Connecticut’s (UConn) Center on Postsecondary Education and Disability. He is also Professor Emeritus in the Special Education Program. Dr. Shaw is former President of the Higher Education Consortium for Special Education (HECSE). Dr. Shaw was Co-Editor of the Journal of Postsecondary Education and Disability and is currently a member of the Editorial Board of Career Development for Exceptional Individuals, the Journal of Postsecondary Education and Disability, Intervention in School and Clinic, Teacher Education and Special Education and the Journal of Special Education Leadership. He has been Project Director for more than six million dollars in grants implementing model demonstration projects, transition, inclusion and preparation of special education personnel. He is currently lead author on a book, Preparing Students with Disabilities for College Success: A Practical Guide for Transition Planning, to be published by Brookes in 2010. His primary areas of interest are transition to postsecondary education, grant writing, postsecondary services for students with disabilities and special education policy and law.
