Robin E. Hands, Ed.D

I have been practicing education in one form or another for the past twenty-eight years, teaching everything from nursery school children to graduate level students. Fourteen years of my career were spent in elementary school classrooms – both private and public – as a regular classroom teacher and then as an Enrichment Coordinator. I was a school administrator for eleven years, at both public and private schools. We lived in Northern Vermont for fifteen years and in addition to my “day jobs,” I also worked as an adjunct instructor and student teacher supervisor for Johnson State College and UVM, and as a gifted education consultant to the VT State Department of Education. My Master’s Degree is in Gifted Education and the focus of my research was on answering the question: Can creativity be taught? My Doctorate is in Teacher Education and School Improvement and my dissertation was a case study exploring "The Phenomenon of Underachievement: Listening to the Voice of a Twice Exceptional Adolescent."

•Doctor of Education in Teacher Education and School Improvement, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, 2009

•Master of Arts Degree in Gifted Education, Johnson State College, Johnson, VT, 1991

•Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, Barrington College, Barrington, RI, 1981
