Robert Noyce Scholarship Program
The Robert Noyce Scholarship program at the University of Connecticut is funded by a National Science Foundation grant. The purpose of the grant is to provide scholarships to support qualified students with a baccalaureate or Master’s degree in mathematics or the sciences, who wish to complete UConn’s one-year Teacher Certification Program for College Graduates (TCPCG). The TCPCG prepares students to teach grades 7-12, including Certification and a Master’s degree, with a 12 month program that begins each May. A Noyce scholarship pays $15,000 toward the tuition for two summer sessions, as well as fall and spring semesters (10 scholarships available). Other scholarships, along with subsidized loans, are also available to TCPCG students.
Students who are chosen for a Noyce scholarship must agree to teach full-time as a licensed teacher in mathematics or science in a high-needs public school district (as determined by federal guidelines) for a minimum of two years within the 6 years following completion of the TCPCG.
If you plan to hold a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Statistics by June 1, 1010, why not consider a career as a teacher and apply for a Noyce Scholarship?
