Strength and Conditioning (BS)
This program has received recognition from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). It combines applied research, theoretical coursework and practical application of theory in a unique learning environment. Our faculty members are among the most-respected experts in strength and conditioning, and our graduates are leaders of this field.
The strength and conditioning concentration is designed for students who intend to become strength and conditioning coaches, work in the fitness industry, or pursue graduate school in a related area. As part of this concentration, students focus on the sciences to provide a foundation for exercise testing and prescription, teaching exercise techniques, and program development. Upon completion, students will be able to take the National Strength and Conditioning (NSCA) certification (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, CSCS) examination and gain certification to coach in the state of Connecticut.
