Athletic Training Education Program
Appeals Process
The University of Connecticut students denied admission into the Athletic Training Education Program may formally appeal the Selection Committee’s decision. Students who wish to appeal their dismissal from the university should read the following instructions and submit the required paperwork by the date listed above to be considered for reinstatement.
The following are items that should be submitted for review of the appeal:
1. The student must write a detailed letter of appeal to the Chair of the Department of Kinesiology. The letter must be received by 12:00 noon one week from the day the student is notified regarding their admission status.
Note: The letter should be transmitted electronically from a UCONN email address.
2. The written appeal will be reviewed and discussed by the Appeals Committee. The committee is composed of the Department Chair, the Director of Entry Level Athletic Training Education, the Director of Athletic Training Education, and two of the department’s full time faculty members.
3. The Appeals Committee will make a decision regarding the appeal by the day before classes start for the spring semester. The majority will rule.
4. The decision of the Appeals Committee is final.
Please Note: Students should call 860.486.3623 to confirm delivery of your appeal.
