Neag School of Education Department of Kinesiology

#1 Doctoral Kinesiology Program in the U.S.

The Department of Kinesiology has received one of the highest honors in its field. Its doctoral program in kinesiology has been ranked #1 in the U.S. by the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education.

The Department of Kinesiology (EKIN) offers a wealth of strength in three areas of study: athletic training, exercise science, and our newly revitalized sport management program. We are a faculty united by a strong commitment to provide our students with the very best learning experiences through innovative teaching and research opportunity.

Our powerhouse faculty, including leaders in the fields of strength and conditioning, hydration and sport nutrition, bring prestige to the university as well as the Neag School.

Our exercise science program is considered by leaders in the field as one of the country's best . Our nationally accredited athletic training program is positioned to become one of the nation's top 10 programs. Two of our efforts focused on children and wellness, PawPALS and Husky Sport, have been successful in combining outreach with the research to effect change in Connecticut schools and students.
