Educational Administration Program

UCAPP - The Internship
A vital part of UCAPP is the internship, an experiential component of the program which prepares students for actual leadership roles. Prior to the beginning of an internship, great care is taken to match each student intern with an appropriate mentor administrator. Following extensive dialogue concerning an intern's professional goals, work schedule, and unique abilities and needs, the internship experience is planned and usually begins during the second or third month of the program. To date, professionals in over 60 school districts have acted as mentors to our UCAPP interns, and have also participated in the selection of students, the teaching of course modules, and the ongoing development of the academic program.

Although uniquely designed for each intern, the internship usually follows this credit and time format:

• School Year I (Fall/Spring): 10 Days
• Summer: 20 Days
• School Year II (Fall Spring): 10 Days

Total: 40 Days
