Educational Administration Program

UCAPP - The Cohort Experience
A new cohort of interns commences its program in the summer semester following an initial one-day orientation. The UCAPP program is generally completed by June of the second year. Upon completion of the first year of the two-year program, students are ordinarily eligible to apply for Connecticut State Certification as Intermediate Administrators.

UCAPP students travel together through their two years in a cohort, allowing them the opportunity to build relationships with each other as aspiring administrators, to collaborate on projects, and to plan time together academically and socially. Students have found the cohort experience to be extremely valuable, and in many cases, continue these supportive relationships after graduating from the program. Cohorts are kept small and generally range from 12 to 15 students. Additional cohort activities include approximately three reflection seminars during each fall and spring semester, as well as visits to unique settings in schools and communities.
