Teachers for a New Era - UConn
The Neag School of Education is proud to be among the 11
chosen by the Carnegie Corporation of New York to be participants
in the Teachers
for a New Era (TNE) network. During a TNE-UConn
kick-off event in 2004, Dr. Vartan Gregorian,
president of the Carnegie Corporation, heralded UConn's
efforts to make teacher education a university-wide responsibility.
Our inclusion in this effort to improve teacher quality
in U.S. schools is a badge of distinction. Under the direction
of Dr. Scott Brown, professor of educational psychology,
the Neag School of Education faculty is working in partnership
with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences faculty
to increase research collaboration, analyze and redesign
curriculum in general education and content courses, and
develop new tools for assessing teacher quality on student
performance.
