The University of Connecticut, the state's flagship institution of higher learning, is a Carnegie Foundation Research University-Extensive, a distinction shared by fewer than four percent of America's higher education institutions. It is a Land and Sea Grant College, as well as a Space Grant Consortium Institution. UConn has more than 70 focused research centers where faculty, graduate students and undergraduates explore everything from improving human health to enhancing public education and protecting the country's natural resources.
The Neag School of Education is an upper-division undergraduate and graduate school within the University. NSoE programs are certified by the State of Connecticut and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), and are associated with the principles of the Holmes Group and the National Network for Educational Renewal.
